We are preparing to observe a rare celestial event in 2025, as the Kappa Alpha Society marks its 200th revolution around the sun. We invite you to join us in celebrating this singular event by adding your name to the historical record of Kaps who have been blessed with the good fortune of inhabiting this earthly realm at this moment in time. Your donation will support key initiatives at CC, where we were founded, and/or within the Society at large.
This fund will primarily support a renovation in Jackson’s Gardens at Union, which was established by and named after Founding Father Capt. Isaac Jackson, CC 1826. We are working with Union to establish a gathering area for students and visitors with the KA cornerstone as its centerpiece. Designed by renowned architect Russ Davidson, CC ’80, the KA Cornerstone Project will provide a prominent tableau for this sacred touchstone of our Society in the heart of these cherished grounds (see the Cornerstone Concept Sketch).
Union is re-investing in Greek life. The school sees the bicentennial celebrations of the founding Triad (KA, Sigma Phi, Delta Phi) as an opportunity to celebrate the very positive aspects of Greek life. Once again, KA has an opportunity to show the way. Funds raised beyond those needed for the Jackson’s Gardens renovation will help support and encourage participation in Greek life at Union.
The John Hart Hunter Educational Foundation, Inc.
Bicentennial donations to JHHEF will help provide support for an annual scholarship program, leadership conferences for chapter officers, and reimbursement of travel expenses for actives to attend initiations and the New York City dinner.
All donors will be listed in the program for the bicentennial event, which will become part of the historical record housed in the archives at the Union College Library. Donations may also be made in memoriam so that our ad astra brethren can continue to dwell among us.
